The 40k Retrofit
A typical 1950’s semi-detached home in Halstead, Essex has undergone a remarkable £40k retrofit to reduce carbon omissions by over 80%. Hunters worked closely with contractors Higgins and Greenfields Housing Association to deliver what is affectionately known as the “Eco House” in the town.
There are many retrofit solutions, but how many are affordable? The solutions delivered at White Horse Avenue not only benefit the environment but the Housing Association hopes to use the income from the energy to roll out similar retrofits in their portfolio. A quantifiable and affordable result was part of the success to date of the scheme.
